Tanzania, officially known as the “United Republic of Tanzania,” is a nation in East Africa, formed by the union of Tanganyika on the mainland and the Zanzibar Archipelago. This country, located in the Great Lakes region, is one of the largest in Africa and the biggest among the East African nations. Tanzania lies on the eastern coast of Africa, between latitudes 1° and 11° south, and longitudes 30° and 40° east, covering approximately 945,000 square kilometers.
