Ruaha River Lodge is situated approximately 146 kilometers from Nduli Airport in the Iringa region, a scenic 3-hour and 10-minute drive away. It is also a 30-minute game drive from Msembe Airstrip within Ruaha National Park. Nestled along one of the most breathtaking stretches of the Great Ruaha River, the lodge offers spectacular wildlife viewing from the comfort of your veranda. Its prime location makes it one of the most ideally situated lodges in Ruaha National Park, part of the southern Tanzania safari circuit.

The lodge is spread across two distinct locations. One dining area is set along the riverbank, while the other is elevated on a nearby kopje, providing a unique perspective of the African wilderness. Constructed from local stone and thatch, the lodge blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, taking full advantage of its exceptional position on a river bend.

Ruaha River Lodge is the sole lodge in Ruaha and features 24 stone chalets extending along the river’s edge. Each chalet boasts stunning views from a spacious veranda, with interiors designed for comfort, including a sitting area, writing desk, and either twin or double beds. The large bathrooms at the back of each chalet are decorated with natural timber and include a shower and double basins.

Amenities include comfortable, spacious beds, a large deck for wildlife viewing, an en-suite bathroom with solar-heated water, a lockable safe, battery charging facilities, and a complimentary laundry service.
