LAKE BURUNGE TENTED LODGE

Nestled on the shores of Lake Burunge, the Lake Burunge Tented Lodge offers a serene retreat after a day of exploring the Tarangire National Park. Located within a 25,000-acre conservation area managed by the Mbugwe tribe since 2003, the lodge provides a peaceful escape just outside the park’s boundaries. It’s about 156 km (approximately a 2-hour drive) from Arusha city and a mere 30 km (around 20 minutes) from Tarangire’s main gate. The Sangaiwe entrance to the park is even closer, just a 10-minute drive away. At Lake Burunge Tented Lodge, guests can unwind on their private terraces, taking in the refreshing breeze and the stunning hues of the African sunset. The main lodge building, elevated on a wooden and concrete platform, offers breathtaking views of both Tarangire National Park and Lake Burunge. The lodge features inviting spaces for relaxation, both indoors and outdoors, along with a swimming pool. Each evening, a campfire is lit, providing the perfect backdrop for enjoying drinks and appetizers as the sun sets. When the weather permits, dinner is served under the stars, creating a truly magical dining experience. In addition to its luxurious accommodations, the lodge offers a variety of top-notch services, including room service and internal phone access. Guests can also partake in nature walks, sundowner experiences, and cultural visits to nearby Maasai bomas and villages, where they can meet the local Mbugwe and Wairaq communities.
