OLMARA CAMP

Olmara is nestled in the Soit le Motonyi region of the Eastern Serengeti plains, an untouched, wild, and secluded expanse of the Serengeti. Its remote location provides breathtaking views of the night sky, where the Milky Way dominates the horizon. Renowned for its impressive big cats, Olmara is a sanctuary for wildlife photographers seeking an authentic Serengeti experience. The camp is designed to blend seamlessly with its environment, offering an immersive encounter with nature.

The area is alive with wildlife, including cheetahs, lions, leopards, servals, and other magnificent species, ensuring a thrilling display of predator and prey interactions. Olmara features eight tents, each crafted to harmonize with the surroundings. These tents offer panoramic views of the wilderness, complete with a lounge area, a king-size bed draped in nets, en-suite bathrooms with running water and flush toilets, and options for triples and quads. Families can enjoy inter-connected suites designed for up to four guests.

Three exclusive ‘stargazer’ tents provide an unparalleled opportunity to stargaze through open rooftops, allowing guests to relax on large cushions and drift off under a canopy of stars. Central to the camp are the dining, bar, and lounge areas, all centered around a campfire. Guests can stay connected with the outside world via Wi-Fi, while African art enhances the ambiance of the spacious mess tent. The camp also features cozy seating areas, a library of wildlife and environmental books, and a waiter service offering cold drinks like beer or gin and tonic.

Olmara operates on solar power, with a backup generator for rainy days, and provides battery-charging facilities. The tented suites are nestled in an ancient acacia grove, offering stunning views of the vast plains and the Ngare Nanyuki river valley, dotted with weathered rocky outcrops. Activities at Olmara include game drives, walking safaris in a secluded river valley for guests aged 12 and up, stargazing beds, fly-camping, bush meals, and hot air balloon rides.
