Experience a brief yet exhilarating trek all the way to Lake Natron where you can explore some of the most stunning landscapes and geological formations within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This 5-day adventure also includes the chance to ascend Oldoinyo Lengai, known as “the Mountain of God” in Maasai tradition.

Tour Itinerary
  • Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro international airport and transfer to Arusha

    Land at Kilimanjaro International Airport today and our professional private driver guide will meet you, greet, transfer you to your first night accommodation in Arusha and it is this guide that will be with you for the rest duration of your journey. Today you will be transferred by a private car to Arusha city, the gateway to Tanzania’s top national parks. Check in to your hotel and enjoy time to relax after your flight. On this day, your guide will brief you on various aspect of your next day itinerary schedules plus several other optional things to do in Arusha including but not limited to taking a day tour to Dolly estate where you can experience horse riding, you can choose to do some canoeing at Lake Duluti, visit some local market” an open-air market”, where the locals come to buy everything from fruits and fresh vegetables to kitchenware and other stuffs. Take in the sights and sounds as you wander among the stalls, and learn from your guide how to determine the quality of the merchandise—and how to barter (trade) in Swahili ways. Other options include visiting shopping centers in town, visiting nearby museums in Arusha city, coffee estate tour, visiting nearby waterfalls and several other places will be made available for those who arrive early.

  • Day2: Arusha to Emparkai Crater rim

    Today after an early breakfast at the hotel in Arusha city, you will be transferred to Emparkai crater, if you wish you will be dropped at some point before you reach the crater rim to start a walk to Emparkai crater rim. Arrive at the crater rim in the afternoon and after having your lunch you will descending to Emparkai crater base. It takes 45 minutes walking down to the crater base and an hour or more ascending up to the top after having great time at the Emparkai lake (crater floor). Emparkai crater is 23km northeast of the Olmoti Crater, and it is 17.7 kilometers from Nainokanoka campsite. Enjoy the appealing scenery on this trek while escorted by an armed park ranger where you will enjoy what other many travelers consider it to be world beauty. The lake, which draws flamingos and other water birds, fills most of the crater floor, which is surrounded by steep-sided, forested cliffs at least 300m high. The view from the crater rim is one of the most appealing in northern Tanzania, but hiking down into the crater is a wonderful experience as well.

  • Day 3: Trekking from Emparkai crater rim – Acacia Camping area

    After breakfast, depart with picnic lunch and all stuffs carried on Donkey back to Acacia camping area via Nayobi village today this will be a fully trekking moment and there will be no vehicle around, only donkeys will be used to carry luggage to another point, enjoy the beautiful scenes of Ngorongoro highlands passing through beautiful landscapes of the area, if lucky you can sight buffaloes and other common animal herds of Ngorongoro area, birds are also sighted.

  • Day 4: Trekking from Acacia to Lake Natron

    After breakfast start trekking for at least four hours passing through beautiful land escarpments to Lake Natron where you will visit Lake Natron in the evening time from your campsite to see the flamingos for which Lake Natron is famous of, if you wish, you can walk at the lake shore in salty water, Visit Engaresero waterfalls or hike to Engaresero rift wall for an exceptional view and experience. You will also have an opportunity to take a plunge into the Engaresero river pools if weather permits it. Return to camp for dinner and an overnight rest until 11 pm and getting ready for an out again for a climb of Oldoinyo Lengai, an active volcano, this is a strenuous climb that usually departs at midnight and takes you to the ash cone of the Oldoinyo Lengai mountain for a magnificent view before descending back to the base early morning after the sun rise and transferring back to the camp for a rest.

  • Day 5: Lake Natron back to Arusha or Airport

    After a tiring adventure and all the trekking and climb activates from day one to a finish day, today will be the day you just got back from a climb of Oldonyo lengai. After shower and taking your brunch, you will drive to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport to head back home or proceed on other schedules.
