After you’ve settled in, you’ll meet the dedicated Ifude Tours team for a comprehensive orientation session. Our experienced leaders will walk you through the key details of your journey and provide essential tips for a successful climb. Next, your hiking gear will be meticulously checked and adjusted as needed. The remainder of the day is spent preparing for the unforgettable trek ahead.
Rise early and energized for the day ahead, as you prepare for an exciting adventure along the Northern Circuit route of Kilimanjaro. After a fulfilling breakfast at your hotel, you'll set out from Moshi toward the Londorossi Park Gate in the west. This scenic 3-hour drive will take you off the usual path, offering an enriching cultural journey through the intriguing towns of Boma N’gombe and Sanya Juu, where you'll encounter local life up close. Upon arrival, you'll check in with Kilimanjaro National Park officials while our team organizes your equipment and supplies. Take the opportunity to meet the rest of your support crew, including our skilled and welcoming chefs. Next, our guides will transport you further up the mountain to the trailhead. As your trek begins, you'll traverse a pristine wilderness teeming with ancient, exotic plants. Look out for the Black and White Colobus Monkeys peering down from the lush rainforest canopy, and keep an eye out for larger wildlife, such as elephants and buffalo. Your journey for the day concludes at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750 m), where you'll relax and recharge.
Awake on the lower reaches of Mount Kilimanjaro, ready for what promises to be the most breathtaking and extended day of your trek. As you continue your ascent, you will leave behind the final stretches of lush rainforest, transitioning into the stunningly stark landscape of the Low Alpine moorland. Along the way, you'll encounter rare plant species, such as towering violet lobelias and wild, untamed vegetation. Traverse the vast Shira Plateau, once the floor of a mighty volcanic crater, and make your way across Shira Ridge. Your day concludes at Shira Camp 1, situated at 3,600 meters, where you'll settle in for the night.
After enjoying a warm and hearty breakfast, you'll embark on your journey through the scenic expanse of the moorland zone. This particular stretch of Kilimanjaro remains relatively untouched by many visitors, allowing you to immerse yourself in its pristine beauty. As you move beyond the Shira Plateau, you'll be met with a breathtaking view of Kilimanjaro's majestic peak before arriving at Shira Camp 2, situated at an elevation of 3,810 meters. The remainder of the day will be yours to explore the stunning surroundings, including the iconic Shira Cathedral, a towering rock formation surrounded by spires and pinnacles. To help with acclimatization, your guide will also organize short excursions for everyone in the group.
On the fifth day of the Northern Circuit Route on Kilimanjaro, you’ll journey eastward into the High Alpine desert zone. Here, the Lemosho Route merges with the well-known Machame Route before diverging onto a more secluded path. Along the way, you’ll encounter intriguing desert plants and catch a glimpse of the iconic Shark's Tooth, a volcanic rock formation, as you make your way to Lava Tower. This stage of the trek gradually introduces you to higher altitudes, aiding in your acclimatization. By the end of the day, you'll arrive at Moir Camp (4,200 m), nestled behind the stunning Lent Hills, where you can relax and savor a hot meal.
Wake up to the crisp, invigorating mountain air on the elevated slopes of Kilimanjaro. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll pack your gear and ascend out of the scenic Moir Valley. A brief side trek takes you to the summit of Lent Hills, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas. Rejoining the Northern Circuit trail, you'll navigate undulating terrain, winding around the northern slopes of Kibo. As the day winds down, you’ll arrive at Buffalo Camp, where you’ll settle in for the night at a beautiful campsite, overlooking the expansive Kenyan plains that stretch out below.
Your adventure on the Kilimanjaro Northern Circuit proceeds with a refreshing morning ascent to the summit of Buffalo Ridge. Following a lunch break, you'll journey further east, traversing both High and Low Alpine landscapes where the vegetation becomes progressively more sparse and unique. The day concludes as you navigate around the northern slopes, arriving at the Rongai Third Cave Camp. At this point in your trek, you'll be well-acclimated to the high altitude.
This is the concluding segment of your adventure before the final climb to Mount Kilimanjaro's summit. Today's main feature will be traversing The Saddle, a desolate terrain nestled between the Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. Afterwards, you will proceed southwest to School Hut (4,800 meters), where you will rest and get ready for the final stretch of your incredible journey. Your guides will meticulously inspect all your equipment and supplies to ensure everything is ready for an early morning departure.
Your final morning on the Northern Circuit of Mount Kilimanjaro begins early. In the pre-dawn hours, you and your guides will make your way through the dark towards Gilman’s Point on the main crater rim. Here, you'll take a brief rest before embarking on the final ascent, where you'll traverse awe-inspiring ice cliffs and glaciers. You'll reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro just as the sun rises, offering a breathtaking natural spectacle. Share the thrill and sense of achievement with your guides and support crew as you take in the stunning vistas. After savoring the view, you'll head back down the crater rim, following the Mweka Route to your final destination – Mweka Camp.
The final hike is a brief journey that will bring us to Mweka Gate. The Africa Natural Tours team will warmly present you with a Gold Summit Certificate to commemorate your achievement. Following this, our drivers will be waiting in the nearby village to take you back to the hotel, where you can enjoy a hot shower, a comfortable bed, and fresh clothes.
Today, our driver will transfer you back to Kilimanjaro international airport for your flight home or to other destinations. If you’ve opted for an extended safari adventure or Zanzibar or any other tour, don’t worry – we’ll handle all the arrangements for you at Ifude Tours & Safaris Tanzania for your maximum comfort.

GREAT EXPERIECE, NO SCAMMING, NO HIDDEN COSTS, EVERYTHING I ASK FOR, WAS THERE!Posted on Google Jelle D'hoop19 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We contacted Miraji (head of Ifude Tours) many months in advance to start planning our six day safari trip. Communication was clear, honest and fast via mail and whatsapp. Itineraries are flexible and can be adjusted to your needs. We were timely informed about any changes to Tanzanian or Zanzibar regulations, guidelines for tipping, what to bring and other questions we had. The day before the tour we met with Miraji and our driver/guide Samuel to quickly go over the program and discuss what to expect. The next morning, we left for our safari itinerary to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro NP. We stayed in comfortable mid-range lodges/luxury tents. The safari land cruiser was clean and well maintained. Samuel was knowledgeable, experienced and a safe driver. During the different game drives we saw pretty much every animal we could've wished for: the big five, cheetah, warthogs, giraffe, zebra, serval cat, antelopes, gazelles, many birds, hippo's, crocodiles, wildebeest crossing etc Lunch was always delicious and the accommodation overall was good and clean, with friendly staff. Ifude Tours is a reliable local tour operator with good value for money. Thank you Ifude Tours for organizing this once in a lifetime experience for us!Posted on Google Sebastien Hilton-Delhaye24 November 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Organised this tour with the owner Miraji from overseas. Whole process was straight forward and miraji and quick good replies. The tour picked us up from the airport when we landed in Tanzania and drove us to some accommodation. Everyone was so nice - the driver the chef and miraji himself there to ensure everything was smooth. The driving was great and the food was delicious and there was so much of it, we couldn't finish it. The tour itself was run so smoothly. We didn't have any hiccups and park entrances or anything else. Everything was organised for us and done quickly on the way to minimize delays. The tour of the park was amazing. Our driver godson knew all the best spots to see every animal we could (and there are so many). He did it in a nice way without disturbing or getting too close to the animals so we could appreciate them without exploiting them. Got some amazing photos of every animal you can imagine. The tents were in great condition and easy to put up. Another thing is that the price was great and included EVERYTHING - no extra charges for anything at all which many tour companies will charge you. The tour is locally owned and operated as well which is great for giving back to the local communities keeping this beautiful park alive. Overall, this was an absolutely amazing experience and I would recommend ifude tours to anyone going, they made everything so easy so great and so hassle free.Posted on Google Benjamin Hilton Delhaye9 November 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ifude was the complete safari experience and I absolutely cannot recommend it highly enough. Miraji was an incredible host who organised everything for us from the get go, picking us up from the airport himself and sorting out our accommodation for the night before as well as a guided bike tour, hiking and local lunch (which was mind blowing) before we even started our safari. The safari itself was life changing as we managed to see over 30 different species of animals and birds including the elusive cheetah and leopard. Our driver Godson was excellent, very knowledgeable and respectful of the animals unlike some other providers we saw whilst on the tour. Stefano our cook was also fantastic and incredibly hard working, the food was absolutely top notch and varied for a range of dietary requirements within our group. The safari van was spacious and well equipped with plenty of drinking water and charging ports for when our phone cameras drained all our battery within the first few hours of the trip. Our camping accommodation was all provided and very comfortable and came with incredible sunrise views included (also a good chance you will be sleeping surrounded by zebras and other wildlife). We covered a lot of distance over the course of the safari but it never felt like a long drive with constant stops to see a plethora of different animals including the big 5, with leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and crocodiles to boot. The experience was overall incredible and I can't thank Miraji and Ifude Safaris enough. If you are looking for the ultimate, authentic safari experience that is run sustainably by local Tanzanians (with money going straight back to the local community and not to global conglomerates with no regard for Tanzania and its people), then Ifude Safaris is the perfect choice.Posted on Google Elisa Hilton-Delhaye9 November 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The communication from the business owner throughout the whole process was really great and made me feel at ease and excited for the safari experience! The price was final and there were no extra hidden/additional costs. The safari itself was incredible - our skilled driver was knowledgeable, considerate of the animals (never crowding them), patient with us and able to answer all of our questions. The vehicle was in great condition and comfortable, as were the tents and the camping facilities. Our chef was always so positive and lovely and everything he cooked was delicious and plentiful!! Did not go hungry. Everything ran very smoothly from the airport pick up to our hotel drop off in Arusha. Had the most amazing experience!! And I loved knowing that our money was going to the right local Tanzanian company who love what they do instead of a greedy American based tour operator group that exploits the local people and doesn't use local guides or local chefs. Couldn't recommend ifude tours any more highly!!!!!! Big thank you to everyone involved:)Posted on Google Jess Myers7 November 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing time with my friends on a 3 day, 2 night safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater with Ifude tours. The organisation from Miraji was great from start to finish and we saw so many different animals and the scenery is beautiful. Our driver Godson was very knowledgeable about the area and the animals so I learnt a lot too! We chose the camping option, the tents were in good condition with sleeping mats and sleeping bags and there were toilets and showers. The food was delicious and plentiful - Stefano is a great cook! I would highly recommend Ifude Tours for your Safari!Posted on Google Y O-A18 July 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. JUST WOW!!! I have been on a number of Safaris in Tanzania and Kenya. This was the the first time I would be going on a Safari with guests, so I undertook EXTENSIVE research to ensure I partnered with a company who aligned with what we were looking for in terms of the economic support and empowerment of the local communities whose home we are essentially visiting by undertaking these tours. Ifude Tours and Safaris stood out because of their extensive knowledge, unrivalled local experience, patience with my thousands of questions (lol!), and unmatched customer service. We had an incredible time exploring the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, as well as a cycle tour in Mto Wa Mbu. Cannot wait to return and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you book Ifude Tours and Safaris for your next trip! We saw 4 of the Big 5, and even saw a cheetah hunting a gazelle. Incredible. Thank you again to Miraji and team - we'll be back soon!Posted on Google Aline Freitas10 September 2021Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
