  • Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport then transfer to Moshi for an overnight stay

    On the first day of your thrilling adventure ascending the Northern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, excitement fills the air. Upon your arrival, our friendly driver will be there to greet you at the airport, ensuring your luggage is handled and transporting you comfortably to your hotel in Moshi. After you’ve settled in, you’ll meet the dedicated Ifude Tours team for a comprehensive orientation session. Our experienced leaders will walk you through the key details of your journey and provide essential tips for a successful climb. Next, your hiking gear will be meticulously checked and adjusted as needed. The remainder of the day is spent preparing for the unforgettable trek ahead.

  • Day 2: Moshi to Londorossi Gate (2,350m) to Mti Mkubwa (2,750m)

    Rise early and energized for the day ahead, as you prepare for an exciting adventure along the Northern Circuit route of Kilimanjaro. After a fulfilling breakfast at your hotel, you'll set out from Moshi toward the Londorossi Park Gate in the west. This scenic 3-hour drive will take you off the usual path, offering an enriching cultural journey through the intriguing towns of Boma N’gombe and Sanya Juu, where you'll encounter local life up close. Upon arrival, you'll check in with Kilimanjaro National Park officials while our team organizes your equipment and supplies. Take the opportunity to meet the rest of your support crew, including our skilled and welcoming chefs. Next, our guides will transport you further up the mountain to the trailhead. As your trek begins, you'll traverse a pristine wilderness teeming with ancient, exotic plants. Look out for the Black and White Colobus Monkeys peering down from the lush rainforest canopy, and keep an eye out for larger wildlife, such as elephants and buffalo. Your journey for the day concludes at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750 m), where you'll relax and recharge.

  • Day 3: Mti Mkubwa (2,750m) to Shira Camp 1 (3,550m)

    Awake on the lower reaches of Mount Kilimanjaro, ready for what promises to be the most breathtaking and extended day of your trek. As you continue your ascent, you will leave behind the final stretches of lush rainforest, transitioning into the stunningly stark landscape of the Low Alpine moorland. Along the way, you'll encounter rare plant species, such as towering violet lobelias and wild, untamed vegetation. Traverse the vast Shira Plateau, once the floor of a mighty volcanic crater, and make your way across Shira Ridge. Your day concludes at Shira Camp 1, situated at 3,600 meters, where you'll settle in for the night.

  • Day 4: Shira Camp 1 (3,550m) to Shira Camp 2 (3,840m)

    After enjoying a warm and hearty breakfast, you'll embark on your journey through the scenic expanse of the moorland zone. This particular stretch of Kilimanjaro remains relatively untouched by many visitors, allowing you to immerse yourself in its pristine beauty. As you move beyond the Shira Plateau, you'll be met with a breathtaking view of Kilimanjaro's majestic peak before arriving at Shira Camp 2, situated at an elevation of 3,810 meters. The remainder of the day will be yours to explore the stunning surroundings, including the iconic Shira Cathedral, a towering rock formation surrounded by spires and pinnacles. To help with acclimatization, your guide will also organize short excursions for everyone in the group.

  • Day 5: Shira Camp 2 (3,840 m) to Moir Hut Camp (4,200 m)

    On the fifth day of the Northern Circuit Route on Kilimanjaro, you’ll journey eastward into the High Alpine desert zone. Here, the Lemosho Route merges with the well-known Machame Route before diverging onto a more secluded path. Along the way, you’ll encounter intriguing desert plants and catch a glimpse of the iconic Shark's Tooth, a volcanic rock formation, as you make your way to Lava Tower. This stage of the trek gradually introduces you to higher altitudes, aiding in your acclimatization. By the end of the day, you'll arrive at Moir Camp (4,200 m), nestled behind the stunning Lent Hills, where you can relax and savor a hot meal.

  • Day 6: Moir Hut Camp (4,200 m) to Buffalo Camp (4,020 m)

    Wake up to the crisp, invigorating mountain air on the elevated slopes of Kilimanjaro. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll pack your gear and ascend out of the scenic Moir Valley. A brief side trek takes you to the summit of Lent Hills, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas. Rejoining the Northern Circuit trail, you'll navigate undulating terrain, winding around the northern slopes of Kibo. As the day winds down, you’ll arrive at Buffalo Camp, where you’ll settle in for the night at a beautiful campsite, overlooking the expansive Kenyan plains that stretch out below.

  • Day 7: Buffalo Camp (4,020 m) to Third Cave (3,870 m)

    Your adventure on the Kilimanjaro Northern Circuit proceeds with a refreshing morning ascent to the summit of Buffalo Ridge. Following a lunch break, you'll journey further east, traversing both High and Low Alpine landscapes where the vegetation becomes progressively more sparse and unique. The day concludes as you navigate around the northern slopes, arriving at the Rongai Third Cave Camp. At this point in your trek, you'll be well-acclimated to the high altitude.

  • Day 8: Third Cave (3,870 m) to School Hut (4,800 m)

    This is the concluding segment of your adventure before the final climb to Mount Kilimanjaro's summit. Today's main feature will be traversing The Saddle, a desolate terrain nestled between the Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. Afterwards, you will proceed southwest to School Hut (4,800 meters), where you will rest and get ready for the final stretch of your incredible journey. Your guides will meticulously inspect all your equipment and supplies to ensure everything is ready for an early morning departure.

  • Day 9: School Hut (4,800 m) to Mweka Camp (3,060 m)

    Your final morning on the Northern Circuit of Mount Kilimanjaro begins early. In the pre-dawn hours, you and your guides will make your way through the dark towards Gilman’s Point on the main crater rim. Here, you'll take a brief rest before embarking on the final ascent, where you'll traverse awe-inspiring ice cliffs and glaciers. You'll reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro just as the sun rises, offering a breathtaking natural spectacle. Share the thrill and sense of achievement with your guides and support crew as you take in the stunning vistas. After savoring the view, you'll head back down the crater rim, following the Mweka Route to your final destination – Mweka Camp.

  • Day 10: Mweka Camp (3,060 m) to Mweka Gate (1,640 m) to Moshi

    The final hike is a brief journey that will bring us to Mweka Gate. The Africa Natural Tours team will warmly present you with a Gold Summit Certificate to commemorate your achievement. Following this, our drivers will be waiting in the nearby village to take you back to the hotel, where you can enjoy a hot shower, a comfortable bed, and fresh clothes.

  • Day 11: Transfer from Moshi to Kilimanjaro Airport

    Today, our driver will transfer you back to Kilimanjaro international airport for your flight home or to other destinations.
