The best time to visit Mahale Mountains National Park in Tanzania is during the dry season, which runs from late June to October. During this period, the weather is more pleasant with lower humidity, and wildlife is easier to spot, especially the famous chimpanzees. The trails are also more accessible, and there’s less rain to interfere with trekking or other activities. July to October is particularly ideal for chimpanzee trekking, as the chimpanzees are more likely to be found at lower altitudes, making them easier to track. Additionally, the clear skies during this time offer stunning views of Lake Tanganyika and the surrounding landscapes.
