KISAMPA BUSH RETREAT

Nestled within the Kisampa private community conservation area, which borders the Saadani National Park in eastern Tanzania and overlooks the Wami River Valley, this eco-conscious lodge embraces a charmingly rustic style. The lodge’s design reflects a commitment to minimizing human impact on the pristine surroundings. Featuring six thatched bungalows, the retreat can host up to 14 guests. Each en-suite bungalow, band, or tent includes a private bathroom nestled in the natural landscape. A bush shower bucket, hung from a tree, provides hot water for bathing upon request. To conserve water, composting toilets are used instead of flushing toilets. Accommodations consist of simple stargazer tents or bandas with mosquito nets for protection. Guests can enjoy relaxing in hammocks or at small work desks. The lodge also offers an on-site bar, a restaurant for dining, and a picturesque fireplace.
