ANG’ATA NGORONGORO CAMP

Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camps is situated 16.1 kilometers from the Loduare Gate of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a drive of approximately 28 minutes. It is also 52.1 kilometers from Lake Manyara Airport, taking around 1 hour and 11 minutes by car to reach the lodge. Nestled on the eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, near the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, the camp lies within the conservation area, allowing for early game drives into the crater where you can explore this World Heritage Site almost in solitude. The crater is home to up to 25,000 animals, though Maasai Giraffes are notably absent due to the challenging terrain. The most sought-after sight is the 23 elusive Black Rhinoceroses, offering a rare opportunity to view them in their natural habitat. Nearby, a few kilometers away, are the Maasai Bomas for those interested in cultural encounters.

The camp is an intimate retreat with 8 guest tents, including a family unit with 2 tents, along with a lounge and dining tent. Each tent features an en-suite bathroom with a shower, vanity, and flush toilet. Guests can choose between a King-size bed, two Twin beds, or triple arrangements. The lounge is a welcoming space to connect with fellow travelers over a complimentary cup of Tanzanian coffee or tea and share safari stories. Meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, are freshly prepared daily by the camp chefs and served in the dining tent. In favorable weather, the Bush TV (a campfire) is lit for guests to enjoy.

From Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp, you can easily embark on a day hike to the Emparkai Crater, visit a Maasai Village, ride donkeys with locals, walk along the crater rim with an armed ranger, or enjoy a Bush Lunch on the crater floor. Additionally, you can celebrate a wedding or vow renewal in traditional Maasai style within the camp, with arrangements made in advance for a memorable experience.
