Tour Description
This safari takes you to the northern Tanzania popular parks where you will witness the great wildebeest migration, every year in this region, herds of wildebeest and zebra embark on a long-distance migration that coincides with the annual rain fall patterns and grass growth at the serengeti national park. The Mto wa mbu Village and its beautiful people on way to these majestic nature parks will give you the insight of the cultural ways of life to many Tanzanians as the village is small but has all the 120 Tanzania tribes: Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Tarangire national park and Lake Manyara National Park giving you the opportunity to see large herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest as well as a good number of incredible bird life and much more.
Tour Itinerary
  • Day 1: Arrival In Tanzania

    Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport or Arusha domestic airport, you’ll be personally met and escorted by our driver-guide to your first night lodge accommodation in the heart of Tanzania’s safari center where you’ll spend the night; your professional safari guide will brief you during dinner on various aspects of your itinerary. Extra activities, including swimming, shopping, or visiting nearby museums in Arusha city will be made available for those who arrive early.

  • Day 2: Arusha To Tarangire National Park

    Early morning after breakfast we will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha and we will head to Tarangire National Park, which is known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found, looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds at it best visiting time during the dry season between July to October. Migratory wildebeest, zebra and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. Here you will enjoy a full day game drive with a picnic lunch before being transferred to Ngorongoro Farm house safari lodge or similar accommodation in Mto wa mbu area for you overnight stay and evening leisure until the next day when you will meet your local guide for a half day Mto wa mbu village cultural tour.

  • Day 3: Half Day Walking Or Biking Excursion At Mto Wa Mbu Village & Transfer To Lake Eyasi

    The bustling farming community of Mto wa Mbu, located between Manyara and Ngorongoro, is home to more than 18,000 people. Spend full day here with a knowledgeable local guide and you’ll discover a side of Tanzania that many visitors miss. After breakfast at the campsite Local guides will pick you ready for a village walking tour, your guide is very likely to be from the village itself so you will have a unique opportunity to see the community through his eyes. Tours last around 3–4 hours, but are very flexible. During your visit you’ll get a good feel for the social side of the village, you’ll likely start your tour at the rice plantations where you will get insights of how they grow them and other different crops (rice are grown seasonal and this will depend on the season of the year) and you will be passed through different places including but not limited to local markets, Banana farms and end at Local mama lunch places where you will have hot local lunch prepared there by them then you will proceed on and meet your driver guide to transfer you to lake eyasi later after lunch to visit the Datoga tribe (experience the life of Datoga and how they make arrows and other weapons for Hadzabe tribe) then dinner and overnight in Lake Eyasi.

  • Day4: Lake Eyasi Engaging With Bush Men (Hadzabe) Tribes’ Men On A Hunting Tour & Transfer To Serengeti Central

    Today you will depart from the lodge very early in the morning around 0600hr with packed breakfast and head on to meet with Hadzabe tribes’ men and embark on a hunting tour before the sunrise to avoid much sun heat and learn about their hunting techniques, soon after this tour you will be transferred to back to the lodge for shower if necessary and if time allows this then proceed on safari to Serengeti national park on our safari vehicles passing through the beautiful farm lands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro highlands to the Serengeti national park with packed picnic lunch boxes, game drive on route “The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing in Central Serengeti is at its best during the dry season (June - November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopards”, proceed to the camp for overnight stay and evening leisure enjoying the bush scenarios.

  • Day 5: Full Day In Serengeti National Park

    After breakfast, depart with picnic lunch for a full day game drive to the northern Serengeti Kogatende area following the great migration along the Mara River. The game drive will be along the Mara River and other interesting places in the north where the big groups of wildebeests will be at that particular time. After the full day of game drive, we will drive in the direction off to the camp for evening leisure and hot dinner.

  • Day 6: Full Day Game Drive In Serengeti National Park

    In Early morning you will be transferred to an area where the balloons will be taking off from in the northern Serengeti, after balloon safari (Optional with extra charges) you will proceed and enjoy full day game drive around Serengeti national park allowing you to have unlimited views of what Serengeti can offer to you, you will have a final game drive in the northern Serengeti until lunch time when you will be heading off to central Serengeti where you will spend a night again. The Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year round due to its abundance of resident animals. Specifically, the Seronera River Valley in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard. These months are also great to see the huge herds of Wildebeests mixed with zebra on a seasonal migratory in the Serengeti national park.

  • Day 7: Central Serengeti To Ngorongoro Crater – Transfer To Arusha Town

    After breakfast we head off on safari from your lodge in Serengeti central park are to Ngorongoro conservation area, today you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which lions, zebras, flocks of flamingos, elephants, giraffes just to mention a few. Ngorongoro is often referred as the eighth natural wonder, it has been listed as a UNESCO site which is considered the most beautiful and unique place in Africa where man and wildlife stays together in one area, we will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here. After game drive in the late afternoon, we head off the Ngorongoro conservation area to Arusha town for an overnight stay and dinner

  • Day 8: Arusha To Zanzibar Stone Town, Then Transfer To Prison Island

    Today after breakfast you will be picked up by our staff and transfer you to airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar after arriving in Zanzibar our staff will be there at the airport ready to pick you up and transfer you to your accommodation in Stone town Zanzibar, after check in at your hotel, you will board on a boat for a good-half-an-hour ride to Prison Island also known as Changuu island or Quarantine Island. The island was once used by an Arab slave trader to contain the more troublesome slaves he had brought from the African mainland to prevent their escape before shipping them to the Arabian purchasers, or for auctioning in Zanzibar slave trade market. The slaves were dumped on the island, while on this island enjoy the snorkeling, see the largest tortoises in this island. Historically the prison idea was to send violent criminals from the Tanganyika mainland to the Prison Island. The Prison Island ended up being used as a quarantine center, instead of a prison, for yellow fever epidemics that once raged through the region. Today you finish the day on this island and get transferred back to Stone town where you will spend a night before next day schedules.

  • Day 9: Half Day Stone Town Tour & Transfer To Zanzibar International Airport

    Today after breakfast our guide will pick you from the hotel and you will do a tour to Nakupenda beach, you'll start this fun day with a visit to the Nakupenda beach – Nakupenda which means 'I love you', and you will feel loved there - gentle sand spilling over your feet while walking, mellow waves caressing your body and super-friendly personnel tending your needs. Swim, sunbathe and snorkel the crystal-clear waters. After a dive, you'll surely be ready for a sumptuous beach lunch, including grilled shrimps, squid, octopus, lobster, and langoustine - depending on the daily catch at the beach. Filled with energy for a new adventure wave goodbye to Nakupenda beach and board a boat back to a hotel in the afternoon for relaxation and getting ready for your late evening flight back to Seattle.
